About the Role

Hitachi Rail is seeking a highly motivated Software/Systems Technical Lead (PLA - Product Line Architect in our terminology) to conducts research for new and innovative products, design concepts and product development for our Product Line: Passenger Mobility, working in close coordination with our Product Line Manager (PLM) in charge of the product strategy and with our Development Team implementing the Product, he/she will report directly to our country Engineering director and to the Technical Director of the Business Line.

We are seeking someone with consolidated experience in managing the product life cycle (preferable in Software products) from conception through retirement to ensure that all products meet the company’s standards for quality and performance, creating product roadmaps that outline its evolution over time based on market conditions and customer feedback, preferable in the transports and mobility area or passenger experience technologies.

You will be having direct contact with end users and clients that will enrich your experience and allow you to bring insight to the Product engineering and development teams. Responsibilities

The Product Line Architect main responsibilities include:

- Acts as the technical leader for the Product Line, being responsible for all technological decisions for the products under the portfolio of the Product Line.
- Analyses the Product needs/requirements prepared by the PLM, to define the Product technical solution and roadmap.
- Defines & manages all product variability, commonality & re-use across the Product Line & throughout the Product lifecycle.
- Prepares the technical part of the Product Plan: Product technical definition & functionalities, architecture & building blocks, innovation insertion plan, technical roadmap, RDC Budget requirements, Competition products technical analysis, Core/Non-Core analysis and related Strategic Make-Team-Buy
- Prepare and conduct the Engineering reviews, technical meetings or peer reviews during the bid or project and in Product Decision Reviews.
- Regarding bids & projects using Product Line products: close coordination with the project/bid team to detect and mitigate risks of divergence with Product Line technical roadmap.
- For a Product development: verifies the implementation of the Product Policy during the Product Development Phase, working with the project/bid team to detect and mitigate risks of divergence with Product Line technical roadmap.
- 5+ years of experience in Software Products / Software Architecture
- Strong leadership qualities and team motivation skills
- Good technical background and understanding in IT, and communications areas
- Good problem solving skills with experience of developing & implementing customer focused solutions and resolving high level operational challenges,
- Good understanding of modern lean/agile methodologies
- Knowledge on Cybersecurity standards
- Computer skills: Modelling languages, Programming languages, Micro-Services, Cloud

Education and Qualifications
- Bachelor / Master Degree in Computer Science or IT or Software
- A minimum of 5 years of experience within the Software architecture, preferable in JAVA and Cloud environments,
- Portuguese and English
