**Responsibilities**:
We are looking for an experienced and strategically minded professional to lead, coordinate, and optimize the operations of our Soccer Performance department(Opta Brand). As Senior Operations Lead, you will act as the right hand of the Operations Manager, supporting cross-functional initiatives, leading key process improvements, driving performance and quality, and managing a large operational team. This role is central to ensuring smooth delivery, operational efficiency, and alignment with strategic goals for the Opta product. This is a hybrid role based in Averio,Portugal.

HERE’S YOUR ROLE BROKEN DOWN (NOT ALL OF IT, JUST THE MOST IMPORTANT STUFF)
- Act as second-in-command to the Operations Manager, stepping in when needed and supporting strategic decisions.
- Lead and support the Senior Team Leads, overseeing operational execution, coverage plans, and resource coordination.
- Monitor and report on department KPIs, ensuring consistent performance, identifying recurring issues, and driving corrective actions.
- Coordinate cross-functional projects and initiatives, including the rollout of new tools, workflows, and coverage strategies.
- Drive continuous improvement through data-driven analysis, automation opportunities, and process redesign.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and development of operational roles, ensuring growth and high standards.
- Foster collaboration with internal stakeholders (QMS, Scheduling, Coverage, Training, etc.) to align goals and improve efficiency.
- Represent the department in key meetings, presenting operational needs, progress, and feedback clearly and effectively.
- Ensure structured communication of updates, changes, and process documentation to the wider team.

**Desired Qualifications**:

- High proficiency in English and Portuguese.
- Strong leadership in an operational environment with large teams.
- Strategic thinking combined with practical execution.
- Ability to learn and adapt quickly to operational processes and technical tools in a fast-paced, data-driven environment.
- Proven ability to manage performance, lead meetings, and deliver cross-department projects.
- Effective communicator and problem-solver with a data-driven mindset.
- Deep knowledge of global football leagues and competition formats.
- Relevant academic background in Business, Operations, Management, or related fields is preferred.
