Set at Palácio Santa Clara, above the winding alleys of Alfama, the hotel combines rich heritage with bold contemporary design by Samuel Torres de Carvalho. The property features 165 guestrooms, 24 residences, multiple bars and restaurants, lush gardens, a rooftop terrace, and a world-class Spa designed to reshape Lisbons wellness scene. As we enter the pre-opening phase, were looking for a Spa Manager to help bring this vibrant new destination to life. Your Role As Spa Manager, you will lead the full pre-opening and launch of The Standard Spa, ensuring it becomes one of Lisbons most sought-after wellness destinations. Youll oversee all operational setup, recruit and train a passionate team, and craft the spas philosophy, treatment menus and signature ritualsdrawing on global wellness traditions and Portuguese influences. Once open, youll manage daily operations with a hands-on approach, maintaining exceptional standards of service, safety, cleanliness, and guest experience. Youll oversee budgets, forecasts, and financial performance, identifying creative revenue opportunities through memberships, partnerships, events, and wellness activations. Working closely with senior leadership and the Marketing & Culture team, youll help shape innovative wellness programs, community-driven events, and sensory experiences that bring The Standards playful, inclusive and design-driven ethos to life. This role blends operational leadership, financial savvy, and creative visionperfect for someone who wants to build a spa experience that is anything but standard. About You You bring 35 years of Spa or Wellness Management experience, ideally gained within a luxury or lifestyle hotel in Portugal. You have experience with pre-opening projects, including treatment and menu development, and a strong understanding of holistic wellness trends and elevated guest experiences. Your background includes solid financial and business acumen, and familiarity with Portuguese wellness culture and local ingredients is a valuable plus. You hold relevant Spa or Wellness certifications and are fluent in Portuguese and English. Creative, proactive, and adaptable, you thrive in fast-paced environments and are comfortable working flexibly during the pre-opening phase.
