The Senior Surface Coatings AME is a specialist in various coatings, coating Operations, where various materials are used as a dielectric barrier for high voltage components and considered as a SME.

This position in conjunction with Engineering Groups, develops New Products, Manufacturing Technologies and successfully implements strategies in support of new processes and new technology launches for various Products.

This position establishes Global standards related to surface coatings and surface preparation for coatings and sprays.

The natural working environment for this position is Product Development Engineering Team as this position is expected to collaborate with them very closely.


  • KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide direct technical expertise and support to product design activity, including material and process selection, technical problemsolving during development, qualification, and production phases.
  • Work with Product development, suppliers and Plant manufacturing teams to develop new paint/coating processing technologies.
  • Responsible for equipment design, install, commissioning, validation, and rootcause analysis.
  • Collaborate with Engineering Groups and support developing various metal joining methods, materials for brazing, Heating Elements, etc.
  • Provide specific technical expertise for product and process development, related to the field of the Materials technology and Electro Chemistry.
  • Collaborate with R & D to develop Engineering guidelines and standards.
  • Develop innovative processes for global implementation.
  • Actively participate in LPPD Workshops and ensure the products and processes are robust.
  • Collaborate with plants in developing the Equipment SOW and acceptance criteria of the equipment.
  • Collaborate with Product Engineering and plants in prototype development and testing, ensure a smooth knowledge transfer between Proto builder to the plants.
  • High levels of creativity and flexibility.
  • JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master's degree in Engineering discipline required; PhD in Engineering preferred.
  • 8 years engineering experience; 5+ years' experience is ideal with surface coatings and materials in a highvolume manufacturing.
  • This role is specifically tailored to various types coating operations, Previous experience with electrostatic adhesion, material cleanliness/Surface treatment or preparation, thermal curing, and polymer materials is preferred.
  • Creativity and outofbox thinking in solving problems.
  • Must be a fast learner and proactive performer.
  • Must be an innovator with bottomup ideas.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to manage projects independently.
  • The ability to travel 50% of the time.
