This is a critical role focused on ensuring smooth transitions, standardising processes, and achieving operational excellence during a period of significant change.Duties and ResponsibilitiesLeadership and Team Management:Lead and manage the global accounts payable team, ensuring alignment with organisational goalsAlongside the Deputy Manager, provide training, guidance, and support to team members to enhance performance and developmentFoster a collaborative and positive working environmentProcess Improvement and Standardisation:Evaluate and standardise accounts payable processes across the global teamImplement best practices to improve efficiency, accuracy, and complianceDevelop and document standard operating proceduresChange Management:Drive the successful embedding of the new global accounts payable structure in LisbonManage stakeholder communication and expectations during the transitionMonitor and report on the progress of the change initiativesPromote expense management and cost control throughout the Business by providing regular, timely, and targeted reporting from the procurement system, MarketplaceOperational Excellence:Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and reconciliationsManage relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve any issuesOversee month-end and year-end closing processes related to accounts payable, ensuring that monthly reconciliation of balance sheet control accounts are conducted in compliance with internal control policyCompliance and Risk Management:Ensure compliance with company policies, local regulations, and international accounting standardsIdentify and mitigate risks related to accounts payable operationsConduct regular audits and reviews to maintain high standards of accuracy and integrity,Reporting and Analysis:Prepare and present regular reports on accounts payable metrics and performanceAnalyse data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvementProvide insights and recommendations to senior managementPerson SpecificationFluent in English & Portuguese (Spanish, French, German or Dutch will be an added value)Strong leadership and people management skills, being able to support and encourage others to ensure quality services are consistently deliveredExperience of managing KPIs, SLAs and other performance metricsMindset of continuous development, able to demonstrate how to effectively deliver change to different stakeholder groupsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills.
