Offer Description ISEG - Lisbon School of Economics and Management, Universidade de Lisboa announces an international documented recruitment contest for a public service employment contract for the position of one Full Professor in the subject area of International and Development Economics.
This contest is opened under the terms of Articles 37 to 51, 61, and 62-A of the University Academic Career Status.
This contest was initiated by the Deliberation of 25/10/2024 of the Rector of Universidade de Lisboa, confirming the existence of a sufficient budget provision and that the respective position is vacant.
II — Work location The campus of ISEG - Lisbon School of Economics and Management, Rua do Quelhas, No. 6, 1200-781 Lisboa, Portugal.
III — Admission requirements for the contest III.1 – Candidates must have a PhD earned more than five years before the deadline for the submission of candidatures and must be aggregated in Economics.
III.2 – Candidates will be automatically excluded if they fail to submit the necessary documents listed by the deadline.
IV — Requirements for admission based on merit alone The following are obligatory requirements for admission for the contest:
To have a PhD in Economics earned more than five years ago.
To be aggregated in Economics.
To possess a scientific and teaching curriculum in International and Development Economics, focusing on development economics, with at least eight papers published or accepted for publication in indexed scientific journals.
V — Criteria for evaluation and ranking The objective is to evaluate the capacity and performance of the candidates in the various attributes relevant to the role:
Carry out scientific research and cultural activities;
Teach designated subjects and supervise students;
Participate in public outreach activities;
Participate in the management of university faculties;
Carry out other responsibilities assigned by the competent university body.
VI — Preferred criteria Preferred parameters are teaching and research in the sub-area of development economics, as well as interaction with energy economics and sustainability.
VII — Public hearings The selection panel may convene public hearings to clarify information in the candidates' CVs.
VIII — Submission of candidatures Applications must be submitted using the prescribed form, accompanied by the necessary documents in non-editable format (pdf).
IX — Language Supporting documents can be submitted in either Portuguese or English.
X — The constitution of the Selection Panel The selection panel is comprised of the Rector of Universidade de Lisboa and other full professors from various universities.
