The delivery business generated $64 billion in gross-bookings in 2023. As we continue to grow by over 20% YoY globally, we're excited for what the future holds. As the General Manager for Uber Eats in Portugal, you will have the unique opportunity to manage and scale the leading delivery platform in the country, with thousands of active restaurants, and a groundbreaking suite of offerings. While Portugal is one of our largest and most successful countries in the whole EMEA region, where we currently deliver millions of orders per month, our journey has only begun and we plan to continue growing We're looking for someone who has that mix of operational excellence to get great work done, the negotiation and collaboration skills needed to bring out the best from our restaurant partners, the strategic and creative thinking that's required to develop outside the box solutions to set us up for long-term success, and the emotional intelligence required to lead a fast paced business and inspire a team of people. This is the ideal role for someone who has experience launching and scaling a business, leading a business or business unit and can dive from high-level to detail where needed. You are obsessed with tinkering and iterating to obtain operational rigour and 'Uber' quality throughout the customer's experience. Country strategy, marketing, marketplace efficiency, quality, commercial strategy, P&L ownership and customer experience sit under the GM's umbrella of responsibilities. Deeply understanding your market and building local partnerships is critical - this is where creativity meets leadership and execution head on. What You'll Do Strategy - develop and drive alignment around a focussed growth strategy across the three current business lines: Food delivery, Grocery & Retail and Direct. Lead all aspects of the results-driven execution in your market. To do this you will develop a deep understanding of the broader industry trends and be able to identify and explore opportunities ahead of competitors. Leadership - lead and motivate a high caliber 60+ person team and be part of the EMEA Delivery leadership team. Work collaboratively with cross functional partners in Marketing, Product, Legal, Policy, Comms and BD. Operations - bring execution and operational excellence and continuously optimize to improve margins and efficiency. P&L Management - be responsible for the overall P&L of the country, across all businesses, achieving challenging growth and EBITDA objectives
