We are looking for a Director of SALES Human Resources to join our pre-opening team at Andaz Lisbon.
Expected to open in Q2 2025, Andaz Lisbon will offer guests an exciting new luxury lifestyle hotel in the Portuguese capital – and it will represent a key milestone in Hyatt's continued brand growth in Southern Europe. Andaz Lisbon is set to become the second Hyatt-branded hotel in Lisbon. Located in the center of Lisbon's bustling Baixa district and situated along the main pedestrian road, Rua Augusta, the hotel will be comprised of five separate buildings, including the former offices of one of the major banks in Portugal, Banco Português de Investimento (BPI). This central building of the hotel will offer 170 guestrooms, with the surrounding four satellite buildings of the hotel offering guests various private suites to choose from. This unique Urban Resort in the city center will allow guests to fully embrace the locale and experience authentic Lisbon.
About the role
You will be an expert in preparing the outline for the Strategy for Sales and Distribution segmentation, with strategic initiatives designed to achieve the hotels' financial goals. Responsible for the deployment of your sales team to drive Luxury Leisure segmentation and positioning in the Lisbon market. Diverse knowledge of Sales Tactics, and team deployment by segmentation. Work with Hyatt Global Sales and Sales Force to leverage our network for maximizing reach. Ensure implementation of all Hyatt systems and processes, as well provide tactical and strategic advice as a Lead Committee member of the organization.
Main Duties
To develop, implement, maximize, monitor and evaluate objectives, strategies and activities of the Sales Department, so as to secure new and repeat business for the hotel, thereby achieving and exceeding forecasted revenue figures.
To measure, interpret, prioritize and evaluate the effectiveness of acquisition activities and to re-evaluate programs on an ongoing basis so as to achieve/exceed the objectives as outlined in the Annual Marketing and Business Plan.
Ensure participation at key Trade shows as well manage Virtuoso, Hyatt Prive, FHR and other Consortia Agents and Regional Leads.
To have a thorough knowledge of LOCAL competitive set, strategies, business strategies for specific Transient segments.
Accurate forecasting procedures to enable Operating Departments to adjust their operation and cost structure.
To obtain and maintain an awareness of community, business, political and social factors which may affect the Hotel's financial objectives.
Work closely with Revenue teams to ensure pricing strategies are delivered upon and are reviewed bi-monthly and strategies formulated to fill low occupancy periods two months ahead, with base and sub tier segmentation business.
To ensure that utilization of various technology and software e.g. Net Delphi is maximized and that clean data is maintained at all times.
Work with Revenue teams for OTA strategy and implementation.
To ensure updates on market trends and information is always updated and ensure networking is done on regular basis to promote the hotel and check competition.

Your main focus during pre-opening will be:
Preparing hotel's Strategy- Distribution, segmentation, and action initiatives.
Prepare and develop a Sales plan for Market entry.
Building your team- Acquisition/Recruitment.
Post opening you will:
Oversee and manage day to day operations of the Sales team to ensure the optimization of all leisure, transient retail, and corporate segments are performing.
Optimise and Capitalise on Strategic leads in the market from upcoming events and city happenings.
Ensure reach through Hyatt available tactics and consortia goals are achieved, through promoting and living our values and team building.
Coaching, and leading your team to have a "hunter" mindset for business.
About you
You are an expert in Sales in your region, and understand strategy creation and execution.
You know the Lisbon market, understand source markets, are in constant touch with the field of changing supply and demand.
You are known in the market as a reliable, respected, and dependable sales leader.
You speak Portuguese and English fluently, and know the city of Lisbon well.
You have an eye for detail and excellent organisation skills, and know how to lead your team from the front.
Your communication skills will be excellent and you will be able to manage stakeholders at varying levels.
Your confidence and assurance will enable you to be effective.
You will know how to measure and use KPIs and interpret and communicate results in order to help the company achieve its business goals.
You will have previous experience using software/systems within Sales.
Qualifications Previous Director of Sales experience in Luxury brands.
Pre Opening experience is an advantage.
Know the Portugal, Spain, UK, and US markets.
Ready to travel when required.
Be part of an opening team, and contribute to all needs of the hotel outside your responsibility.
