**Job Description**:
Asset Protection Representative Portugal
- Please note this job is based in the North coast of Portugal (Porto, Braga or Aveiro), and it will require a full driving license._
- Exciting role for a passionate, legal wise, analytical, and investigative driven individual who has a Police, military, or security background._

The Asset Protection Representative Portugal will assist the Asset Protection Manager in the protection and recovery of CHEP equipment according to CHEP Asset Protection strategy. This involves attendance, education and enforcement.

You will be involved in asset protection initiatives within a wide-ranging client base.

Some of the main tasks of tihs role are:

- Primarily focused with the recovery of CHEP equipment across Portugal.
- You will promote safe working practices, ensuring full implementation and compliance within CHEP company policy.
- You will ensure that all allocated tasks are defined by risk protocols to ensure a safe working environment of all CHEP personnel.
- You will be responsible for the submission of accurate records to enable effective monitoring and performance.
- As member of the Security and Asset Protection team, you are a key part of CHEP, leading our drive to ensure our assets are removed from the threat of loss. You will support the CHEP Asset Protection strategy with the use of varied and robust tactics.
- You will design a geographic strategy to ensure country wide coverage
- You will achieve this by exploring risk and vulnerabilities as early as possible
- Your investigation skills should assist you in identifying weaknesses and areas of risk across our customer base, in order to identify and remove root causes and to prevent reoccurrence. Your aim is to protect the brand and reduce loss whilst educating those who seek to undermine CHEP commercially.
- Proven loss prevention strategy exposure, including experience in a distribution environment is welcome but not essential. A first-class onboarding programme will guide you through the CHEP retail operation.
- You will demonstrate an ability to challenge, adjusting language and style to suit the listener.
- Have you a calm demeanor? You will need to maintain composure within challenging locations which require personal risk assessment.
- You will investigate all asset protection related matters within an investigation process and can evidence such in clear and concise formats. However, you must be agile and adaptable.
- You must be willing to design your own route to success. You have the chance to create your own role from the ground up, aligning to the CHEP Asset Protection strategy, the role will allow a freedom of movement and choice to enable success.
- You will provide leadership to Field Service staff regarding areas of security and asset protection. Upskilling those with your knowledge of questioning technique and body language to enhance customer satisfaction so client contractual obligations are maintained.
- You can demonstrate first class presentation skills at Senior Management level; however, you can adjust your engagement to all levels accordingly.
- You will have a thorough understanding of theft/acquisitive crime and associated criminal offences. The role will require you to professionally handle external theft situations.

Qualifications and background we look for:

- Knowledge of Criminal Law centered around acquisitive crime.
- Retail or Commercial experience
- Have personal experience of surveillance/anti surveillance tactics.
- Possibly from a disciplined Military or Police background, however Debt Collection experience combined with a commercial outlook is suitable.
- Good IT skills and functionality, however comprehensive IT training is available.
- Willingness to travel
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience of being in a customer facing role, gained within a retail environment is ideal but not essential. The role will require you to professionally handle external theft situations.
