ROPU MIDI is a Regional Operating Unit consisting of 7 mid-sized Operating Units: Belgium, Denor (Denmark & Norway), Finland, Greece, Portugal, Sweden, and The Netherlands. Are you an entrepreneurial leader with a growth mindset and passionate about improving the animals’ health? We are seeking for Business Unit Head Pets
- Animal Health (AH) in Portugal with exceptional business acumen.
In this role, you work with high performing products and a strong product pipeline in a rapidly developing market where you can have a big impact on the company results. By identifying and implementing strategic business opportunities in the market you are responsible for reaching and exceeding the net sales and profit targets. Moreover, you will manage and provide leadership to a team of 12 members. You set direction for multiple brands and sales disciplines and leverage our strong and unique culture.
You are member of the Animal Health Leadership team and report directly to the Head of AH Portugal.
This is a local position with a local contract.
**FURTHER KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
Sales management and technical support:
- Contribute to the development of the AH Business Plan.
- Deliver Net Sales Targets through development and implementation of a sales, marketing and commercial strategy for the BU Sales Team.
- Implementation of customer linked company loyalty and customized program, in order to secure and grow business profitability.
- Develop and implement KAM strategy
- In collaboration with the marketing team, ensure that Sales & Operations Planning process is adhered to.
- Contribute to the short to medium-term strategic plans for all BU brands, integrating sales, marketing and technical activities.
- Monitor the performance via appropriate tools
Leadership:
- Lead, coach, develop and motivate team members to ensure optimal individual and team performance.
Key Stakeholder Management and Communication:
- Establish and maintain relationships with relevant key stakeholders (veterinarians, scientific community and wholesalers) throughout Portugal.
- Ensure efficient information transfer and communication with relevant internal stakeholders on national, regional, and global level.
Project Management:
- Responsible for the operational and strategic interactions with key wholesalers.
- Responsible for the successful organization of external key events involving customers.
- Pro-actively participate in improving the efficiency of internal processes and systems.
**WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING TO THE TEAM**:
- Master's degree in Veterinary Medicine and experience as a veterinarian in the Portuguese market.
- An additional Business Administration or Marketing education is strongly preferred.
- At least 10 years of animal health industry experience within the veterinary field.
- At least 5 years of experience in people Management and talent development.
- At least 5 years of experience in sales.
- Excellent command of both the Portuguese and English language.
- Strong entrepreneurial business skills capable of driving top and bottom-line performance
- Financial forecasting (Sales and Cost Centre budgeting)
- Lead People/Builds engagement through collaboration and knowledge sharing.
- Experience in change management, including communications, training and support, leadership engagement and change network management
- Strong results orientation
