About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and passionate leader to oversee the Economics and Business department, ensuring high-quality education and inspiring students to excel in their future careers. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Economics, Business, or a related field, with a strong academic track record and teaching qualification.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Economics and Business department, overseeing curriculum development, teaching standards, and resource allocation to ensure excellent education.
- Design and implement a comprehensive Economics and Business curriculum aligned with Cambridge International and IB standards, fostering critical thinking and practical application of economic and business concepts.
- Deliver engaging and challenging Economics and Business lessons to students from Years 7 to 13, ensuring excellence in academic outcomes across all levels, including Sixth Form.
- Mentor and support Economics and Business teachers, facilitating professional growth and promoting best practices within the department.
- Collaborate with colleagues across departments to promote interdisciplinary learning and contribute to the school's academic initiatives.
Requirements
- Educational Background: A degree in Economics, Business, or a related field, with a strong academic track record (e.g., First or Upper Second Class Honours) and a recognized teaching qualification.
- Proven Academic Excellence: Experience teaching Economics and Business at GCSE and IB (or equivalent, such as A Levels), with a history of securing top academic outcomes, including high proportions of students achieving top grades.
- Analytical Insight: The ability to articulate what drives excellent progress and performance in Economics and Business examination specifications, providing a clear vision for academic success.
