About the Role

This role leads international payroll operations, ensuring a globally consistent employee experience across all Farfetch offices. The Senior Payroll Manager will oversee full-cycle payroll processing, collaborating closely with People Ops teams to drive improvements for best-in-class payroll services on a global scale.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversight of end-to-end payroll operations for a company with over 2,000 employees, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing across multiple regions.
  • Leadership of a team of 10+ members, providing mentorship, development, and performance management, fostering a high-performance culture that delivers excellence in people services.
  • Ensure payroll compliance with local, national, and international tax regulations, labor laws, and statutory requirements, including managing multi-state and multi-country payroll complexities.
  • Collaboration with HR, Finance, and other key stakeholders to ensure people operations processes align with business needs and support broader organizational goals.
  • Implementation and optimization of payroll systems and processes, leveraging technology like Workday and ADP to drive efficiency, accuracy, and automation in payroll operations.
  • Management of payroll audits, year-end processing, reconciliations, and reporting, ensuring accuracy and adherence to regulatory deadlines.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to streamline payroll workflows, reduce errors, and improve the overall employee experience.
  • Act as a key liaison between employees and payroll, addressing and resolving payroll-related inquiries and issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintenance of the security and confidentiality of employee payroll data, adhering to strict data privacy standards in all payroll processes.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in payroll, human resources, or finance.
  • At least 4 years of experience leading or working within a payroll team in HR or Finance, with extensive knowledge of payroll taxation.
  • Hands-on experience with medium-sized payrolls (1,000+ employees).
  • Strong expertise in international payroll, with a focus on optimizing processes and improving efficiency.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information to different levels of the organization.
  • Highly organized, able to manage multiple priorities, and work efficiently under tight deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy in all payroll operations.
  • Able to take both a strategic and operational approach to managing payroll, driving vision and execution.
  • Previous experience with year-end payroll processing and reconciliation.

Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $80,000 - $120,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus additional benefits, including health insurance for the whole family, flexible working environment, well-being support and tools, extra days off, sabbatical program, and training opportunities.
