Overview


The Infinera Portugal office currently seeks a Systems Engineer for our Customer Demo Lab in Lisbon working for the Global Services Department.

The Customer Demo Lab plays an extremely important role for Infinera as the preferred location to showcase Infinera's state-of-the-art Optical Networks products and solutions to potential customers from all over the world.

Below is a brief description of the essential duties and responsibilities required to function successfully in this position.

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform any required equipment ordering, logistics, and shipping to support the lab.
  • Inventory Management.
  • Manages day to day operation of the CDL area

This includes:

  • Enforce lab process and procedures;
  • Maintain a professional looking lab.
  • Install all required test equipment and fiber connections in lab to support the test plans.
  • Configure Infinera equipment and update software loads using GUI/Command Line Interface tools.
  • Follow test plans to ensure equipment complies with performance requirements and any specific customer test requirements.
  • Ensure test equipment calibration and performance.
  • Troubleshoot equipment as required to ensure test compliance.
Required Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of DWDM, OTN,TCP/IP, and routing and switching fundamentals.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, and access cables at floor level and above head level via stepping stools and ladders.
  • Must be able to carry, lift, and install equipment weighing up to 15 kg.
  • Ability to prepare records and reports in Microsoft Excel spreadsheets.
  • Good customer facing skills is a nice to have.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple issues, projects, and/or duties simultaneously.
  • Must be willing to work in an entrepreneurial environment requiring broad experience, adaptability, quick learning and excellent problem solving skills.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and selftransportation to/from site.
  • Fluency/Proficiency in English and Portuguese languages is mandatory.
Education and Experience

  • MSc/BS degree in Engineering/Computer Science/Telecommunications or related field. Advanced Degree is a plus.
  • Certification (current or past) in areas of expertise such as CCNA/CCIE, Juniper, Voice, Optical and other fields is a plus.

Finally, the employee generally works in an indoor office environment.
