The Assistant Accountant will work closely with the Global Finance Director and Global Financial Controller on number of entities, which varies in size and complexity. The Assistant Accountant contributes to the success of OLR by ensuring that the financial aspects of OLR assigned entities is managed to the highest possible standard. In the achievement of this, the Assistant Accountant will be responsible for:

- Maintaining supplier’s records, checking, processing authorised suppliers and contractor’s invoices, and staff expense claims in a timely and effective manner.
- Preparation of weekly cashflow and payments for our entities in a number of UK entities.
- Processing daily bank transactions and completing bank reconciliations.
- Prepare AR invoices in Xero for the non-group UK entities.
- Update AR payment receivables in Xero (PSA tool) for UK and Portugal
- Preparation and submission of VAT return in the UK and work with Grant Thornton in Portugal on the Portuguese return.
- Processing and approval of expenses for UK and Portugal.
- Preparation of monthly Invoicing for intercompany recharges, consulting fees, Management fees and others.
- Assisting in netting off intercompany balances.
- Maintaining fixed asset register for OLR UK and OLR Portugal.
- Preparation of monthly journals (Payroll, prepayments, accruals, fixed assets and others).
- Completion of monthly revenue recognition calculation and presentation to GFC.
- Preparation of billing efficiency journals and analysis in conjunction with other GPA and GFC.
- Payroll, flexi benefits, compensation funds and Christmas and holidays calculation and reconciliations.
- Monthly balance sheet and profit and loss reconciliations.
- Managing entities debtors and creditors ledgers.
- Month end financial reporting to trial balance, balance sheet and profit and loss statements in line with Group reporting timetable.
- Completing the year-end analysis and assisting in the preparation of and during the UK statutory audit.
- Assist GFD and GFC in the preparation of OLR Portugal tax returns.
- Be responsible for other ad-hoc duties where needed.

**Requirements**:
**Education and Experience**:

- Preferably part-qualified CIMA/ACCA/AAT accountant.
- Prior commercial experience in an accounting based/related commercial finance department and strong understanding of the relevant accounting principles.
- Demonstrable IT skills including competency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Experience in the use of accounting packages (Preferably Xero or similar) is essential.
- Practical accounting experience particularly with large multi-year contracts in an international setting with exposure to foreign exchange would be an advantage.
- Prior experience working in a global services company with multiple currencies viewed favourably.

- Ability to handle sensitive matters confidentially and with discretion.
- Excellent written and verbal English skills, additional languages will be a plus.
