**ABOUT IMPROVE**
Improve International was established in 1998 by a group of veterinary surgeons from across the UK. We run Continuous Professional Development training from veterinary professionals to help develop the skills and knowledge required in practice.Our programmes utilise a combination of review lectures, case-based discussion and, where applicable, hands-on practical sessions. Within Improve we also have the function of ‘The International School of Veterinary Postgraduate Studies (ISVPS)’. This function is dedicated to providing veterinary surgeons, nurses and technicians with high quality, achievable qualifications that are recognised internationally. We are an international organisation with offices in the UK and Portugal.

**JOB PURPOSE**
The HR & Payroll Administrator will provide administrative support across the full range of HR areas to ensure effective delivery of HR services across the business, as well as being responsible for payroll processing.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**

**HR Operational Services**:

- Providing HR administration support to employees and line managers, explaining policies and procedures in a timely and effective manner
- Assisting with internal recruitment vacancies -e.g. advertising roles on the internal careers page, drafting offer letters and issuing contracts,
- Assisting with employees onboarding, making admission communications to tax authorities, liaising with insurance providers, and managing employees’ health and safety
- Supporting with administration changes (change of role, change of hours, promotions) drafting letters and updating HR systems
- Assisting with completing administrative tasks associated with maternity, paternity, shared parental leave, adoption leave
- Responsible for the management of the general HR inbox
- Responsible for answering employee queries about HR related issues

**Payroll**:

- Providing information t the payroll in a timely manner.
- Process Portuguese employees’ payroll according to the local legislation
- Fill in monthly payroll taxes
- Gather and prepare all the information related to salary costs to send to Finance team
- Responding to ad hoc requests for data using Excel, Time & Attendance etc.

**Metrics and Analytics**:

- Supporting with large administrative exercises and mail merge activities
- Updating systems and spreadsheets
- Producing metrics and headcount reports
- Ensuring any HR related invoices are processed and paid
- Manage office supplies

**EDUCATIONS, QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS**:

- **Degree in Human Resources management, or equivalent
- HR Professional qualifications/membership
- Fluent in English
- Good excel skills
- Experience and understanding of employment law is essential - Portugal, Spain, France, Germany
- Payroll processing knowledge
- Strong personal organisation
- Good customer service and collaboration skills
- Excellent accuracy and attention to detail
- Able to manage multiple priorities with confidence
- A willingness to take on additional responsibilities when required and be looking to develop your career in HR
- Enjoys rolling up their shirt sleeves and getting things done in a non-corporate, pragmatic way

**BENEFITS**
