Senior Business Development Manager EMEA

Position Overview:

The Senior Business Development Manager will report directly to the Country Manager Portugal and VP Sales, and will be responsible for growing our portfolio of key clients by prospecting and signing new customers. This role is critical in driving Paybyrd's revenue growth and expanding our market presence across Portugal and EMEA region.

The ideal candidate is skilled in building deep prospect/client relationships and pitching customer-centric solutions, always focusing on adding value. But more importantly, our desired candidate is highly skilled in prospecting and opening doors to new business opportunities and has highly developed "Hunter"-capabilities. On top, we are looking for someone with proven experience and success in a start-up/scale-up environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and execute strategic plans to identify, prospect and win new key clients.
- Find creative ways to maximize the number of qualified leads and follow-up on them.
- Serve as the primary contact during the complete sales cycle - from first contact to contract signature and go live.
- Understand industry trends, competition and client needs to identify new business opportunities.
- Lead contract negotiations and close agreements to maximize profits.
- Provide regular status reports, including significant changes, feedback, and updates on quarterly forecasts.
- Participate in client and industry events as a representative of Paybyrd.

Requirements:

- Proven 5 years plus experience as a (sr.) Business Development Manager, Sales Manager or other relevant sales role within a start-up/scale-up environment, focused on innovative SW solutions.
- Knowledge off / experience in the Payment Industry (Acquirer / Fintech / Payment Service Provider) is a plus.
- Should have a network in Retail & Hospitality in EMEA (including Portugal).
- Ability to influence key stakeholders at all levels of an organization, including executive and C-level.
- Sharp and independent, possess excellent commercial, negotiation and presentation skills.
- Solid experience with CRM software and MS Office.
- Commercially astute, with strong analytical skills and capable to set and achieve ambitious sales targets.
- Proven ability to work on multiple large opportunities at the same time, while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, and a good listener.
- Fluent in English and Portuguese. (additional EUR language is considered a plus)
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Sales, or relevant field.
