About the Role:

The Senior Business Development Manager will report directly to the Country Manager Portugal and VP Sales, and will be responsible for driving Paybyrd's revenue growth and expanding our market presence across Portugal and the EMEA region.

You will be working closely with cross-functional teams to develop and execute strategic plans to identify, prospect and win new key clients. Your goal will be to grow our portfolio of customers by prospecting and signing new business.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop Strategic Plans: Develop and execute strategic plans to identify, prospect and win new key clients.
  • Prospect and Win New Business: Find creative ways to maximize the number of qualified leads and follow-up on them.
  • Client Relationship Management: Serve as the primary contact during the complete sales cycle - from first contact to contract signature and go live.
  • Industry Trends: Understand industry trends, competition and client needs to identify new business opportunities.

What We're Looking For:

  • Proven 5 years plus experience as a (sr.) Business Development Manager, Sales Manager or other relevant sales role within a start-up/scale-up environment, focused on innovative SW solutions.
  • Knowledge of/experience in the Payment Industry (Acquirer / Fintech / Payment Service Provider) is a plus.
  • Fluent in English and Portuguese. (additional EUR language is considered a plus)
