Job Description

">

This exciting opportunity is for a seasoned Global Human Resources Strategist to join our Huambo, Angola office. As a key member of our HR team, you will be responsible for leading all aspects of human resources operations in the region, including creating a culture of continuous improvement, reviewing HR policies, systems, and practices, and ensuring compliance with local legislation.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Create and implement HR strategies that align with organisational goals and objectives;
  • Develop and maintain HR policies, procedures, and processes that meet international standards;
  • Manage the recruitment process for national and international staff positions;
  • Lead the roll-out of HALO's global staff survey on programmes;
  • Advising on compensation strategy and appraisal processes;
  • Act as safeguarding focal point: manage programmes safeguarding policies, processes, and practices together with Safeguarding Officer, ensuring compliance with HALO's global safeguarding policy;
  • Provide capacity building training to programme's Safeguarding Officer and oversee delivery of safeguarding training to programme staff.

Requirements and Qualifications

">
  • Degree in Human Resources Management or related field;
  • At least 5 years of experience in HR management in an international setting, preferably in INGOs;
  • Significant experience in implementation of HR database systems;
  • Project management experience;
  • Proven experience of leading safeguarding in the humanitarian sector across a diverse workforce, ideally including experience in designing and delivering safeguarding training;
  • Fluent English speaker with very strong written English;
  • Strong numeracy skills and data analysis skills;
  • Good cultural awareness, able to adapt to collaborating with different people.
