We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Claims Adjuster to join our team in Portugal. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional to take on key responsibilities within our world-class claims function.

About the Role

This Senior Claims Adjuster will be responsible for handling complex claims from coverage enquiry through legal liability assessment and quantum analysis, to timely and accurate resolution. The ideal candidate will have experience in stakeholder management, both internal and external, and possess excellent technical claims competence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage complex claims handling enquiries, coverage determinations, quantum analyses, and legal liability assessments, where appropriate, within authority limits.
  • Provide high standards of customer service and adherence to legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with Team Managers/Senior Adjusters to ensure effective vendor and litigation management on complex claims.
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders as required.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of best practice procedures for complex claims, consistent with global best practice.
  • Demonstrate technical claims competence for handling moderate to complex claims.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A Claim Manager with experience in insurance, specifically in Property and Financial Lines Claims departments.
  • A Business Administration, Economics, or Law degree.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Experience in stakeholder management, both internal (underwriting, distribution, actuarial, finance, and executive management) and external (brokers and clients).
  • Knowledge of legal/regulatory and procedural requirements.
  • Result-driven and able to work in an industry-changing landscape.
  • Capacity to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail and good time management skills.
