As the Head of Advanced Analytics you will lead and coach a team of data scientists. data engineers, data translators and cognitive solution engineers and product owners. You will be part of the Enterprise CDO leadership team that is responsible for the overall Nokia Data strategy and building and providing platforms as well as deliveries across business units globally. You will work with other product owners to ensure we have the best-in-class advanced analytics ecosystem together with strong delivery teams consisting of leading data scientists, ML engineers and cognitive solution developers to support the business in solving the most critical and complex business challenges.
**What you will learn and contribute to**
As part of our team, you will:
- Lead, coach and manage a distributed (Portugal, Hungary, India) team of data scientists and machine learning engineers to maximize their capabilities and deliver strong outcomes and engagement.
- Hire, develop, and retain talented AA architects/scientists/engineers.
- Work closely with stakeholders to create data/analytics products and deliver on existing analytics solutions and ultimately right usage of these solutions.
- Oversee projects and activities of cross functional teams within and outside the ECDO organization to ensure proper execution and alignment of AA projects.
- Define the AA strategy, approach, process, governance and roadmap to ensure fit for purpose technology (e.g. infrastructure, architecture, IT solutions, data sources) and modelling (AA model/solution implementation, evaluation, monitoring and refresh).
- Work closely business partners and delivery to support smooth project execution and successful implementation.
- Influence and educate key stakeholders to become more data and AA driven and improve the adoption of AA in the enterprise.
- Provide thought leadership regarding technical aspects of AA to functional leads, company leadership teams, and groups outside of the company.
**Your skills and experience**
You have:
- At least 5 years’ experience in managing, leading and coaching data scientists and engineers.
- At least a few years hands on experience in AA, having operated previously as an applied Data Scientist, with practical experience of building and implementing AA to solve business problems.
- Solid experience in proactively identifying new use cases for analytics and work through pre-discovery to shape them into well-defined analytics projects.
- Solid experience working with stakeholders to identify business requirements, using a variety of methods such as interviews, document analysis, workshops, and workflow analysis to express requirements.
- Experience in scoping, sizing, designing and implementing solutions/models to support AA cases and demonstrate the impact to the bottom line to the business.
- Experience in liaising and creating trust with business stakeholders and technical engineers to make sure we collect the right data to produce relevant business insights.
- Hands on experience using Python and Spark for the development of AA solutions and pipelines.
- Experience with MLOps from model experiment tracking, registration (e.g. MLFlow) to deployment and model serving (e.g. Kubernetes).
- Experience in working on AA projects in Azure, Databricks or other cloud platforms is highly preferrable.
- Educational preparation and/or applied experience in at least one of the following areas: Machine Learning, Statistics, Computer Science, or other related quantitative discipline.
