Due to continued expansion in Portugal we are actively recruiting for a Development Manager to join the team in Lisbon on a 12 month FTC. You will manage all aspects of multiple real estate development projects, ensuring progress and completion within required time frames and budgets by coordinating various external parties including developers, operating partners, consultants, development managers, project managers and project monitors.

**Role Specification**
- The Development Manager is responsible for effective oversight delivery of the projects and implementation of the Business Plan. Focus will lie within the development and construction phases till hand over.
- Working closely together with the investment manager, business development manager/analyst, project manager(s) (design, construction, openings), financial controller and legal counsel to achieve set deliverables and to identify ways of adding value to the Business Plan.
- To prepare project status reports and ensure that adhere to contract specifications.
- Working closely with the Development Board and ensure approval is granted before big commitments are made.
- Responsible for all contracts, purchase orders, and change orders and submit to Senior Management for approval and comments.
- Investigating cost savings methods, materials, procedures, and generally keep abreast of the state-of-the-art techniques.
- Secures and oversees the whole health and safety process according to national and local building codes and regulations from design, construction.
- Monitoring the project management tasks, such as risk evaluation, construction schedule review.
- Providing documents for the investor(s), procurement and development lenders.
- In addition to the above project specific tasks it is expected that the Development Manager stimulates innovation and improvement of processes, financial models and practices.

**Person Specification**
- University degree in architecture, civil engineering and/or property management.
- Prior experience in property development process and project management of at least 10 years.
- Familiar with the preparation of financial planning, feasibility studies, risk assessments, sustainable development, health and safety procedures, investment and operating budgets.
- Solid leadership experience with good engagement and communication skills.
- Able to work well in a team both internal Round Hill and external with investors, advisers and contractors.
- Excellent command of Portuguese and English languages.
- Results oriented, resourceful and proactive and possess qualities like innovative, creativity, flexibility and integrity.
- Hands on mentality, able to work on both strategic commercial level and technical project level.
- Experience in residential or student accommodation development.
