**Job Brief
**Join us as an HR Operations Manager and help us build a foundation for employee success. We are looking for an ambitious go-getter to oversee all operational functions of our Human Resources department and provide support to our employees across departments. You will serve as the leader of the company’s human resources operations and facilities team, playing a key role in the growth of an exciting start up in the energy transition sector.

As an HR Operations Manager, you will play a central role in overseeing, managing, and streamlining our human resources operations. Your responsibilities will encompass budget management, policy implementation, HR technology, improvement of employee relations, and support of recruitment processes. You will be the key person ensuring the seamless functioning of all internal HR operations.
- Reporting Structure: You will report to the Chief Financial Officer, a key figure in our organization, and collaborate closely with the HR and Finance teams. _

**Responsibilities**
The HR Operations Manager’s key responsibility includes maintaining and enhancing the organization’s human resources by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs, and practices.
You will set objectives for & lead the HR operations team, maintain internal HR systems and databases, lead our policies and procedures, and manage facilities for the growth of the company and the employees. Other duties include:
- Manage and improve current company policies, and implement new ones where necessary. Act as a consultant to managers and staff regarding policies and procedures
- Maintain high standards of HR administration throughout the business
- Handle company-wide contractual matters, negotiations, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Monitor and manage current internal HR information systems and databases. Recommend new software to address HR needs as the business grows
- Work together with lawyers and take accountability for employee relations - is an expert in labour law of Portugal
- Support recruitment and immigration processes together with external partners
- Address employee and manager queries on issues related to compensation and labour regulations
- Managing the administration of any compensation and benefit programs including: salary reviews, bonuses, and other incentives.
- Assess and maintain employee benefits programs and inform employees of the same
- Implement and oversee the performance management cycle
- Liaise with finance on payroll or employee costs as needed
- Manage the building and facilities to ensure compliance and safety for employees at our locations
- Plan company events and propose ways to make the office a great place to work
- Be a superb people leader for the HR operations team

**Requirements & qualifications**
- Proven work experience (at least 5-7 years) as an HR Operations Manager, HR Manager or similar role - preferably in a start up environment, with significant responsibilities in areas such as: employee relations, performance management, compensation, benefits administration, and compliance.
- At least 2 years of experience in a supervisory or team lead role within HR operations.
- Experience working with HR Management/Information Systems (HRIS)
- Experience administering compensation and benefits packages
- Ability to develop and successfully implement clear and fair company policies
- Deep experience in Portuguese labour law; other EU countries (especially Nordics) a plus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build positive working relationships.
- Strong analytical skills with a focus on process improvement and data-driven decision-making.
- Ability to handle confidential HR information with discretion.
- Strong organizational and multitasking capabilities to manage multiple HR responsibilities effectively.
- Strong English skills both spoken and written. Fluent in Portuguese a must-have.
- BSc in Human Resources Management or relevant field; MSc in HR is a plus
