**Overview of the Role**: We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Business Developer to join our team at the Engie Group in Lisbon. As a key member of our Business Development Department, you will play a critical role in converting our ambition to develop renewable energy projects into a concrete portfolio of opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop an in-depth understanding of opportunities for upscaling renewable energy business and identify feasible and profitable projects from origination to financial closing.
  • Contribute to the definition and permanent optimization of ENGIE's renewables development strategy in Portugal.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to improve BD procedures, methods, and documentation.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry policy, legislation, technologies, best practices, and competitors, sharing insights with the wider team on issues affecting the energy sector, business development, and ENGIE's activities in Portugal.
  • Produce necessary documentation, present, and obtain approval for projects in compliance with ENGIE's governance.
  • Timely and adequately report on the progress of the project pipeline and individual projects.
  • Develop relationships and liaise with authorities, regulators, and utilities, identifying and nurturing institutional relationships with relevant local, regional, and national stakeholders, developers, contractors, consultants, and advisors that may enhance the development of project opportunities.
  • Originate opportunities that best serve the R-GBU's ambition and development strategy in Portugal, including greenfield development, co-development, or acquisitions.
  • Foster an in-depth understanding of the regulatory framework to identify and promote the most efficient business development strategy.
  • Propose the best structuring approach to successfully develop identified opportunities.
  • Elaborate the project's development plan, budget, and resources allocation (internal and external), and secure the necessary resources to achieve project success in a cost-effective way.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in the Energy sector.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in Business Development and/or project management.
  • Rigorous knowledge and experience of the Portuguese energy regulation and Business Development processes.
  • Expertise in renewable power technologies, including innovative green energy production forms, associated processes, and technologies.
  • Strong acquaintance with the Portuguese energy market, suppliers, and competitors.
  • Experience and strong interaction competences with Portuguese authorities, regulators, grid operators, contractors, consultants, and other third parties relevant for business development and for the project success.
  • Proven record of career success and ethical compliance at personal and professional level.
  • Cognizance of Environmental & Safety Systems and Regulations.

Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of €60,000 - €80,000 per year, depending on experience, plus additional benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and professional development opportunities.
