Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sales Manager to lead our paper sales efforts in Portugal. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving top-line growth, improving customer satisfaction, and increasing our share of wallet in the paper industry.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Sales Orders: Responsible for booking sales orders and managing the sales process.
  • Promotion of Valmet's Offering: Promote Valmet's products and solutions, with a focus on agreement-based business.
  • Customer Planning: Identify and document customer plans, needs, and objectives, and convert them into sales and development projects.
  • Decision Making and Purchasing Processes: Understand customer decision-making and purchasing processes and guide the sales team through it.
  • Negotiation and Sales Projects: Work as a main negotiator or support in sales projects.
  • Value-Adding Solutions: Guide mill teams towards bundling and value-adding solutions.
  • Market Situation and Competitor Activities: Keep up-to-date with changes in the market situation and competitor activities.
  • Receivables Follow-Up: Manage receivables and follow up on payments.
  • Account Management: Develop a trusted advisor relationship with key customer stakeholders and work as the lead point of contact for all matters.
  • Customer Strategy and Objectives: Keep up-to-date with customer strategy and objectives, organization, and people.
  • Expanding Scope: Expand the scope of existing customers and pave the way for the whole offering.
  • Client Interface: Coordinate and lead activities in the client interface, including communication with the customer, visits, product promotion, sales, and success of delivery.
  • Candidate Requirements:
    • University degree in Engineering.
    • Min 5 years' experience in the paper business sector, preferably in a production and/or maintenance managerial role.
    • Experience in teams leadership.
    • Fluency in English, written and spoken.
    • Good command of most common IT tools.
    • Hunting and team working spirit.
    • Strong customer and results orientation.
    • Great communication skills and proactiveness.
    • Good potential of growth.
    • Willingness to travel.
