Business Development Director

**Job Description:**
The Business Development Director will be responsible for building and cultivating relationships with prospective and existing customers. This role involves researching, identifying, and developing new business opportunities through various means such as trade shows, conferences, and industry events.
This position requires a deep understanding of the requirements necessary to identify and satisfy customer needs, as well as effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
The primary responsibility is to establish new client relationships, focusing on plasmids, nucleic acid (mRNA, LNP), viral vectors (AAV, LV, OV), and microbiome opportunities, including process development, manufacturing, and sterile fill finish services.
To achieve this, the candidate will call on prospective accounts, provide technical and administrative product information, coordinate presentations, and support proposal generation.
It is essential to understand the CDMO market and communicate the value proposition of ReciBioPharm.
The successful candidate will work closely with internal stakeholders in manufacturing, process development, project management, engineering, and senior leadership to develop commercial strategy, goals, and actions.
Key responsibilities include transparently tracking and communicating progress on new and existing customers, accompanying and/or hosting customers for onsite company visits/audits, attending and representing ReciBioPharm at selected industry meetings and conferences, and maintaining a positive and enthusiastic approach.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in business or related field, preferably biochemistry, immunology, molecular biology, microbiology, or related life science major.
- Proven sales/business development track record with minimum 3+ years' experience.
- 5+ years' experience in the CDMO/pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry.
- Key account and territory management experience with academic, biotech/pharmaceutical life science customers.
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Results-driven, passionate, go-getter, with strong delivery and closing skills.
- Able to build relationships through networking and referrals.
- Willingness to accept up to 50% travel.
Location: Portugal (Remote)
Salary: €80,000 - €120,000 per annum, depending on experience.
